Punk In The Produce
Hello everyone! I’m very excited to be writing my first post for the site, and despite being a little late posting the news, we are playing tomorrow at Best World, a grocery store in Mount Pleasant, NW DC.
This show is a community effort along local friends and bands, and filling in the lineup are the amazing Priests and Los Gallos Negros, along Suns Cinema and activist Robin Bell doing visuals for the night. This one of a kind event, where bands will play in the produce section, demonstrates the unique cultural impact that can be made through grassroots coalition building.
We’ve been working for a while now and are stoked for the show being sold out and the buzz that built up around it, which also landed us on the Weekend guide of today’s Washington Post printed and digital edition. I had a fun time chatting with journalist Chris Richards at Elle two or so weeks ago, and I am honestly filled with joy at this past two years where we built this project with a lot of hard work, practice and the support of countless friends and other local musicians.
See you tomorrow night at the gig!
